Ancestry

When it comes to family history and consumer genomics, Ancestry® leads in resources and innovation. For more than 30 years, we’ve been using cutting-edge technologies to enable discoveries that enrich lives. Through ongoing innovation in DNA science, digitizing historical records and automating research, we help customers create a more complete family portrait that continually yields new discoveries as science and technology advances.

Family Search

Family Search is a wonderful, free online research resource that provides access to digitized historical records. It provides access to many of the same record collections as Ancestry.com, like census, marriage, death, and estate records. One of their most valuable resources is their "Discover Freedmen" project, a partnership between Family Search, the National Archives and Records Administration, the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, the Afro-American Historical And Genealogical Society, and the California African American Museum.

Fold3

Fold3® provides convenient access to military records, including the stories, photos, and personal documents of the men and women who served. The records at Fold3 help you discover and share stories about these everyday heroes, forgotten soldiers, and the families that supported them. On Fold3, you can combine records found on the site with what you have in your own albums and shoeboxes to create an online memorial for someone who served.

Newspapers

Newspapers.com is the largest online newspaper archive consisting of 611 million+ pages of historical newspapers from 19,400+ newspapers from around the United States and beyond. Newspapers provide a unique view of the past and can help us understand and connect with the people, events and attitudes of an earlier time.
