Sir:

I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt from your Office of application for Pension No. 149,797, and to return it herewith, with such information as if furnished by the files of this Office.

It appears from the Rolls on file in this Office, that Lewis O. "Durve" was enrolled on the 16th day of May, 1864, at Newberne N.C. in Co. "C"14th Regiment of U.S.C.A. Hy Volunteers, to serve three years, or during the war, and mustered into service as a private on the 16th day of May 1864, at Newberne, N.C., in Co. "C"14th Regiment of U.S.C. Art. (Hy) Volunteers, to serve three years, or during the war. On the Muster Roll of Co. "C" of that Regiment, for the months of March and April 1865, he is reported "Died in Regt'l Hospital of Disease April 18th 1865." Believed to be the soldier inquired for. The name of Lewis O. Dove is not borne on the rolls of said Co. on file in this office
