To all to whom these Presents shall Come—GREETING:
It being certified to the Undersigned, Judge of Probate for Edgecombe County that Isabella Crandall minor orphan [left blank] without Guardian, and W. J. Lawrence having applied for the guardianship of said minor child [left blank], and having been duly qualified as such:
Now these are therefore to authorize and empower the said Guardian to enter in and upon, all and singular, the goods and chattels, rights and credits, of said minor orphan wheresoever to be found, and the same to take into possession, secure and improve, and further to manage said estate and every part thereof, for the benefit and advantages of the said minor orphan, and according to law.
Witness, my hand, and the seal of the said Court, this the 29th day of October, 1878.
