Jerry Tyson married Catherine Epsom. There are two marriage dates provided in the widow's pension file: one, March 15, 1862, at Jackson, Tennessee; and two, July 15, 1859, by a "colored minister" named James Carr. Both Jerry and Catherine were enslaved prior to the war.
